Cottage in Bibury, Gloucestershire, street in Castle Combe, Wiltshire; villages in the Cotswold area of England.
Between Bath- the southernmost edge- and Chipping Campden (ten miles from Stratford-upon-Avon) at the northernmost border, lie the Cotswolds; an area of bucolic pastures and picturesque villages of honey-coloured stone presenting pastoral England at its perfectly perfect prettiest.
Now, there is also plenty of twee, tourists, and traffic, so be prepared for this. You might want to avoid weekends. And for heaven’s sake do NOT go on a bank holiday! Don’t go anywhere on a bank holiday! NOWHERE AT ALL. (Bibury above and Castle Combe below, both by VT_Professor on flickr)
